So far, I have been unable to find any useable articles to share with you regarding the MIG-22 in the gun magazines, but the specs are impressive and accuracy reports have been stellar.

This item is super-hot and the only place I have found that even hints that they may have it available is Legendary Guns out of Phoenix, AZ, 602-242-1195, at $595.00 as seen on Gunbroker.com.

Update, November 12, 2013: Spotted on Cheaperthandirt.com for $325.00!!!

Don't get discouraged though. There are a number of excellent tactical .22s that have flooded the marketplace lately. I always knew they'd find a way to bring the cost of .22 rifles to $500.00 and above and, gosh dammit, that day is here!

2015 July update: MIG 22 now starting at $540 mint on Gunbroker!

Ruger 10/22 Takedown Rifle

Rarely do I have a desire to buy another rifle, having filled most niche areas with my small collection, which includes my short-barreled Remington .308 bolt action for brush hunting deer and hogs, my Arsenal AK-47 assault rifle for home defense should a gang of thirty show up, and my lever-action model 94 for everything else. Then Ruger recently came out with the 10/22 Takedown, which I think is a must have:

$389.00
Easy Takedown
Quick Reassembly
Backpack-Style Carry Bag

 Specs:

  • Caliber: .22 LR
  • Capacity: 10
  • Sights: Gold Bead Front, Adjustable Rear
  • Length of Trigger Pull: 13.50"
  • Weight: 4.67 lbs
  • Material: Barrel Stainless Steel, Black Synthetic Stock
  • Barrel Length: 18.5"
  • Overall Length: 37.0"
Gun Reviews:

I could only find one review so far. Here are the main points:
  • Completely New Design
  • Record sales mean they are currently unavailable
  • All-weather design
  • Aluminum alloy receiver, stainless steel bolt and barrel
  • Carbine style, black fiberglass-reinforced polyester resin stock with composite barrel band
  • Due to the design of the "click adjustable ring", the gun can be locked up tight no matter how much it “settles in” over time-meaning it stays accurate.
  • "Surprisingly Solid"
  • "The scope returned to the same zero every time", between breakdown and reassembly over a dozen times.
  • "No malfunctions" during extensive testing.
  • Trigger pull between 5 and 6 lbs.
  • Plenty Accurate
  • "Great survival gun" with light weight ammo
Good luck finding one anytime soon..........

New Colt Mustang

Reintroducing the Colt Mustang Pocketlite; Colt's manufacturing company, LLC, celebrating its 175th anniversary this year, is proud to introduce a new and improved version of the classic Colt Mustang. The new Colt .380 Mustang Pocketlite is small, lightweight, and boasts enhanced durability, reliability and accuracy, making it an ideal handgun for personal protection.-Colt

$600.00
Colt's Facebook Page
The precise machining process, use of high quality materials and improvements in design make Colt’s new .380 Mustang Pocketlite one of the most consistent and reliable firearms on the market. The aluminum alloy receiver, stainless steel slide and barrel are CNC machined from solid bar stock for precise tolerances. “Machining solid stock is certainly a more involved manufacturing process,” said Joyce Rubino, Vice President of Marketing, Colt’s Manufacturing Company, “But it is that process, combined with our engineering specifications, expertise and demand for perfection that allows Colt to deliver one of the highest quality products available to today’s marketplace.”

With a loaded magazine, this handgun weighs less than one pound. It measures 5.5 inches long and has a 2.75-inch barrel. The minimal weight and length of the gun, combined with the short single action trigger, grip design, frame design and firing pin safety block, make this firearm ideal for personal protection.
The magazine holds six rounds. Improvements in powder and bullet design have increased the velocity and terminal performance of .380 caliber ammunition, adding to the viability of the Colt .380 Mustang Pocketlite for personal defense.-Colt

New Tactical Shotgun

Check out this new 16 round (!) shotgun by SRM Arms (?):
$2,400.00 (Pricey!)

Guns Magazine did a feature on it. Here's the gist of that article:
  • The unique, 4-tube magazine must be hand rotated between each 4 shots.
  • The empty magazine can be quickly dropped and replaced with an identical full magazine.
  • Shoots 2-3/4" or 3" shells
  • The magazine makes it illegal in California and several other anti-gun states
  • "Delayed roller blowback semi-automatic."
  • "Completely Ambidextrous"
